this is about our experience with DID:
You are probably wondering what it is like to have Dissociative Identity Disorder (D.I.D.)…well; we'll try and answer that one for you. It used to be called Multiple Personality Disorder (M.P.D.), and we like the second name better over the first. When a person says, "I have D.I.D.," a lot of people look at that person with a questioning look. They don't understand what that means. Also a lot of people don't like being called a DID. MPD is much more friendlier. we have DID, so we will explain to you what it is like to live with DID.
diana developed DID when she was little and she was being abused all the time by her father and others. she was abused physically, mentally, sexually, and ritually abused through a cult. DID was a coping mechanism for learning how to survive. It was the only way she could survive through all the abuse that was going on. she developed different personalities to through different things, such as sexual abuse from her father and others, physical abuse from those in the cult, having to hold back her emotions during the abuse, having to be neat and tidy, being abused in school and learn to be studious at the same time. These are only a few of the things we had to deal with and developed personalities from them.
we asked everyone inside to write a little bit about themselves, like their age, etc. some can't write so another alter helped them out by writing for them and making it easier on themselves and the rest of us. that way no one would be excluded.
